• This serves to assess the extent to which each candidate fulfils the job requirements and to find out the most suitable one for the vacancy;
  
  
• An assessment system may work on a marking scheme with different assessment items carrying different weightings in accordance with their degrees of importance. Employers can rank the candidates by simply adding up the marks for each of them.
